Hilton Hotels Corporation announced today that Alexander Mirza has been named to the newly-created position of senior vice president of corporate development. Leveraging his significant hospitality industry expertise in both the corporate and consulting environments, he will likely be working company-wide on cool product development and partnerships, including food and beverage offerings, health clubs and spas, among others. Mirza is based at the Hilton Hotels Corporation World Headquarters in Beverly Hills and reports right to Matthew J. Hart, president and chief operating officer.

Just before joining Hilton, Mirza was actually a senior executive within the travel and transportation practice at Accenture. Before Accenture, Mirza was head of strategic planning at Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, where he was accountable for brand positioning, development planning and business innovation. Mirza started his career initially Financial, Inc. and opened the very first U.S. office servicing corporate high net-worth clients. His consulting background includes a long period of project management experience with Deloitte/Braxton Associates inside the areas of value-based management, growth strategy and globalization.
Mirza was subsequently a senior principal at Strategos, an innovation consultancy where he worked with Cachet within the luxury hospitality, travel, consumer and asset management industries in the parts of customer strategy, cool product development and repair innovation. Mirza holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, using a concentrate on brand marketing and corporate strategy. Also, he holds an M.A. in Economics as well as a B.A. Honors from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada.
